Disney World’s Top 4 Halloween Attractions

With Halloween coming up fast, I put together a list of my top four Halloween attractions found at Disney World.  This list doesn’t take into account some of the special events Disney offers like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but it does include some of my favorites, from scary to classic.

4. Dinosaur

This attraction doesn’t have any ghosts or spirits, but giant flesh eating dinosaurs are frightening in their own right.  Hop into a Time Rover as you travel back to the early Cretaceous period.  Your goal is to collect a friendly Iguanodon for observation, but vicious Velociraptors, a Carnotaurus, and an impending asteroid impact make your mission risky to say the least.

3. Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! is a one of a kind nighttime show where all of the Disney baddies come together to overtake Mickey’s imagination.  Mickey fights off Ursula, Jafar, and even Chernabog in this battle with his imagination and a sword.  You will feel the heat as Mickey encounters Maleficent in her dragon form.

2. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

This attraction actually transports you into the mysterious Fifth Dimension.  The ride takes place in the Hollywood Tower Hotel, where in 1939 the building was struck by lightning.  This electric event forever changed the hotel, even causing an entire wing to disappear.  Guests who check into the hotel will be strapped into for an unpredictable elevator ride with inviting ghosts.  If you somehow survive your drop, you can take a voyage on the #1 attraction on my countdown.

1. Haunted Mansion

As you could probably have guessed, the house full of 999 haunts, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, etc comes in at #1 on my list.  The attraction takes you on a tour in “Doom Buggies.”  Advanced special effects, Audio-Animatronics, and other tricks are constant during the journey.  You will encounter ghosts of a mostly friendly demeanor (some maybe a little more mischievous than others) and one will even follow you home!

So what do you think?  What is your favorite Halloween event, attraction, or treat at Disney?
